We help children engage their bodies and minds through fun, educational activities.

Arcadia Episcopal Preschool is open year-round to provide quality care for children ages two through five years.

Our preschool is licensed by the state of California. We are a year-round program. We are open from 7:00 am until 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. The school is closed for only 13 days per year. We admit students of any race, nationality or ethnic origin, and do not discriminate on the basis of religious beliefs. All families receive a high level of personal attention from our staff and management.

School Mission and Philosophy

The mission of our school is to provide high-quality child care for working parents in our community. Since 1993, Arcadia Episcopal Preschool has placed an emphasis on developing each child’s individual abilities. We provide a caring, emergent curriculum designed to meet the child’s cognitive, social-emotional, physical and spiritual needs in preparation for daily life and kindergarten.

The philosophy of the school is based on Erik Erickson’s stages of social-emotional development, Jean Piaget’s theories of how children think and learn, and sound principles of physical development. We believe that children learn through play to become enthusiastic and engaged learners.

Our preschool serves as an extension of the family’s child-rearing activity through the care and education of children. Fulfillment of this role requires meeting criteria far beyond the minimum mandated standards through state licensing requirements for health and safety.

Parent Involvement

Parent involvement helps with communication between home and school. We ask all families in the school to contribute five hours per calendar year.

Until there are changes from the Los Angeles County Health, visitation is suspended. We would be happy to offer prospective parents a tour on Zoom.


We require all parents visit with their child one hour daily, one week prior to the start date. This helps with the child’s transition and gives parents an opportunity to see how we care for the children. It also gives the children a chance to become familiar with the teachers, their peers and their new surroundings. We encourage all parents to attend one chapel service with their children if possible.

The Staff

We are proud that we have a low turnover of teachers during the year. Our staff members are selected through a rigorous screening process. All staff members have current CPR and first-aid training. In addition to having experience and a love for children, each teacher is knowledgeable in providing activities that produce efficient learners.   The teachers attend a yearly in-service training to keep them up to date on new discoveries in the field of early-childhood education. Some teachers are bilingual in German, and Indonesian.The staff is also required to meet standards set by California Licensing and requirements set by the Los Angeles Episcopal Diocese.


We welcome preschool children who would benefit from our program regardless of race, sex, creed, color, religion, and national or ethnic origin. Parents seeking to have their child attend Arcadia Episcopal Preschool must fill out an application form and pay the application fee of $50, which is nonrefundable. The school accepts children on a first come, first served basis.

We are accepting applications for early fall:
Four year old room- 2 (5 full) day and 1(5 Half day am) Class ratio is 1 teacher to 10 children.

Three year old room- 2 full time openings and 2 part time openings in the pm. Class ratio will be one teacher to eight children. Two year old room- 2-5 half day pm. 1-4:45 daily. Class ratio is one teacher to six children. 1-5 Full day openings
